What is FTP?

FTP means File Transfer Protocol. 
The File Transfer Protocol is a protocol that allows the transfer of files from one computer to another. You use this protocol with a FTP client software, which works like your normal file manager on your local computer for your local harddisk but with the possibility to upload and download files and folders to and from your hosting webspace. Furthermore you can set write permissions to files and folders on your webspace, which is possible to get most of the scripts running. 

There are several good FTP client softwares you can use to upload your script files and set the permissions.

You can download one of them and use it to install your script.
